Hero is the story of Korea’s top reporters and ordinary citizens fighting against the society elite’s abuse of power. Jin Do Hyuk is a clever and talented reporter who ends up living a life of recklessness and despair when the woman he loved dies. He later decides to start a new life by helping other victims of society’s crimes, becoming a modern hero who battles against the non-ethical.

* timing : of said english dialogue to correspond with spoken korean
* editing : checking grammar, spelling, consistencies with character names, places, other episodes, identifying ‘missing’ dialogue for the spot translators, etc.
* final QC :last ‘quality check’ before release.
Thanks for the subs but it would be much better if you released them as singles instead of waiting and releasing two at a time. A person forgets some of the storyline by the long interval between releases.

I’m using HAN subs with VLC and for instance, in the beginning of episode 4 there are subs with {/a6} that tries to explain the meaning of Deok Ilbo. so it happens when it’s giving a translation of Korean words while other characters are speaking. Sorry for the long wait of reply, and thank you for taking the time to try and help out.
What player would be recommended in place of VLC?

yep – know the problem – it used to happen to me as well – but no more since I now have the latest version of VLC. The formatting code that you see means that that text is to be displayed above the spoken dialogue. Are you a Mac or PC person? Either way, VLC should work if you have the latest version &/or pluggin’s/codec’s etc depending if PC or Mac.
Otherwise, you can always download another player – in no specific order other than alphabetically – there is Gom, MPlayer, Quicktime, RealPlayer to name a few.

The fansub wiki says you will be working with HAN version for 10-14 but for episode 13 I have a version called HAKEN from aja-aja.com (downloaded when it was still open) so, I’m wondering whether it will be compatible with the subs you will launch.
I didn’t find HAN version for episode 13.
