Jung-im closes down the shop early in preparation for her father-in-law’s 60th birthday. Yet, his sons and daughters are nowhere to be found, and so as her husband Tae-ho. At this hour Tae-ho is with his co-worker Suh-young, whispering loves under the curtain. Nowadays, Tae-ho has no arousal around his wife, and sees no sparks in their conversations. Suh-young, on the other hand, is a light to his dull life. As secrets can never stay sealed forever, during his sleep Tae-ho unconsciously blurts out his love towards Suh-young. After such bitter incident, Jung-im is dragged to I-dol concerts by her friend Aeh-ran, and unexpectedly ends up in a fight. Soon, the press releases news about her under the title by, “the revolting vigilant fan in her thirties!” Then Jung-im’s life falls apart, as Tae-ho divorces her. Yet what she had not realized is that her life could also turn towards “good” when given just the right chance. As entertainment agency’s head Hyun-wook decides to turn Jung-im into a successful Cinderella, her life changes! Then one day, as Tae-ho turns on his radio he hears a voice, a familiar one… yes, it was his ex-wife Jung-im’s. What would happen next?

OMG! I can’t wait for this drama to be over with. It’s just too long…………..
I prefer the 16 to 20 episode drama. With 54 episode, that’s enough for 3 full dramas. Such a waste rehashing story plot and dialogue just to make a really, really long contemporary TV show.
I agree, 16 episodes tends to make things move along without too much boredom setting in – usually. I was drawn in mostly because of Taeho’s younger brother’s situtation. I expected a lot more character development (not this back and forth, dragging their heels to keep the story alive) to have occurred by now considering that the series was extended due to its popularity for one thing. I can understand (though it would be disappointing) if the writers want to leave it an open ended (wether she goes back to her ex husband or not and moves on) if they feel uncertain how to progress with Jeongim’s love life.

I do agree. It seems as if there’s this back and forth with Jeongim’s growth and it does become frustrating seeing that Mr. Choi could help her meet her goals, both professionally and personally whereas her ex husband was a hinderance and wanted things to play out in a way that would benefit him. He wanted his cake and to eat it too, especially in regards to his ex wife and the “other woman”.
I wouldn’t mind for them to be friends, which would help his mother come to terms with things and would be healthier for both the ex husband and his ex wife, but I don’t see it being realistic or good for either of them to go back into a relationship when it’s apparent that Taeho will more than likely return to the same roles.
He has yet to show the amount of growth that would warrant a possible second chance without that little voice becoming a big red flag for a second failure. He seems more of the jealous scorned woman persona rather than someone that’s remorseful and understands that he has some problems with admitting what he has done wrong to his ex wife and letting her move forward with someone that apperciates her as more than just the woman that shares his last name.
The bonding Jeongim has with Mr. Choi does remind me of the warmth her relationship with Taeho had with her in the beginning. One would think he’d have some humbleness in that enflated ego of his to remember that she stayed by his side and helped him make considering his lack of funds.
The raws are so confusing, as I don’t understand the language enough to grasp what’s being said, so the ending simply confused me further (ratings though remained high).
Anyways, thanks as always, Haru2subS for the subbing this series because it became hard waiting for the weekends to roll around for KBS to show the subtitles whenever there’s a good cliffhanger.
I also just peeked at the last ep – but can’t be sure of what’s happening, though I do have my suspicions.

Oh noooo. Say it isn’t so. They really do seem to be aiming for the “happy reconciliation” between Jeongim and her ex-husband… but I really can’t see how they can realistically make that ending a happy one.
Everyone except her mother-in-law seems to miss Jeongim only because she took such good care of them – including Taeho. Cooking, cleaning up, looking after Taeho and fussing over him, making him feel important and cared for… that’s really what he misses; I have yet to see any sign that he actually likes her as a person.
And this grudging “growth” he’s showing now – gee. Give the guy a medal. /sarcasm. Is that really meant to be a huge sacrifice, that he’s willing to admit to the divorce in public to prevent her career from being ruined? WOW. Imagine that. What a prince of a guy, actually realizing that maybe he himself is not the only thing that matters, and that there is such a thing as doing right by others by telling the TRUTH.
And honestly, even if Taeho does finally manage to tell her he’s proud of her and loves her and wants her back at one point, after working himself up to that point for 50 eps or so – does anybody really believe that he won’t relapse to taking her for granted immediately, once he’s back being comfortably cared for by her? Because I have no sense of actual love for her from him – he’s just jealous now that someone else is interested in her and can’t give up his possession, and misses being cared for and loved so well.
His patterns of behavior are so well set, and he’s so good at making himself believe that whatever he wants to do (for utterly selfish reasons) is the only reasonable and logical way to act… this guy won’t change so far that he’ll make a good and loving husband to Jeongim.
They’d just be back to where they started.
Jeongim is frustrating me too. Where’s her strength? I thought she was finally turning into her own woman, but she still keeps looking back and dragging her heels and can’t believe that she’s allowed to have her own life and be her own person, instead of just taking care of others by cooking and cleaning for them.
Graaaarhgh.

i really love this drama…it makes me cry, laugh…i really enjoy even I haven’t finish watching it yet….love poor jeongim n mr. choi…actually jeongim, taeho n mr choi are same age…however,,mr choi looks much younger….love this drama….good job!! credits to all the hardwork in making this great drama!!
i almost stop watching this drama, i got sick to see how both father and son treat their wife…somehow when Mr Choi appear in jeongim life i’ve never miss to watch this drama every week end….at some point i also worry that at the end jeongim get together with taeho. again…who wants to buy a dvd and watch it over and over when it end that way but it will be fantastic if jeongim start a new romance with her boss…than its worth waiting and buying the dvd!

I agree. I don’t see how, if that’s what the writers’ may be thinking, it will be believeable for them to get back together again. I don’t see him suddenly becoming a better husband to her, not even when he has a rival. I think it will be a let down if those two get together. I want her to continue to grow as a character, even if she doesn’t get together with Choi the producer (crossing my fingers that she does though).
To me, it serves a better lesson to apperciate what you have before it’s gone and take responsiblity for your actions. I get his family is especially upset, but I also believe they have more selfish rather than selfless motivations. Sometimes it’s better to divorce from someone like Tae-ho than to stick around and hope for the best and end up with a lifetime of regrets. A marriage should also have a friendship base and I see just the remains of what was. If they do get back together in the end, I hope it’s on her terms, that she won’t just give without doing some taking, and Tae-ho becomes humble and loving like he was before.
^^ All and all, I’m so happy that I got into this drama and that it’s being subbed.
Taeho is a real Douche-bag! He’s suppose to be a professor of sociology and should know better about relationships. He’s narcissistic with a God complex. He treated Jeongim well enough when he was going to school and she’s paying the bills but once be become a professor, all of a sudden she’s not good enough!
The man is a pig!…………..If I had a wife like Jeongim, I would thank her everyday for marrying a guy like me.
Seriously, there are a lot of guys like Taeho and they don’t even know how good they have it until they end up getting a divorce.

This is such a long series, and it moves so slowly at times – must get frustrating sometimes to make subs, but I really, really appreciate your effort.
I am very glad to see that Jeongim is finally, FINALLY, slowly – so slooooowly – developing a tiny sense of self, and is beginning to stand up for herself. I hope that this is only the beginning, and she will continue to grow into a strong woman!
Taeho’s weak “comfort” attempts failed to move me entirely, seeing as they were born out of joy at his ex-wife’s failure. He is actively hoping she fails, so he’ll be proven right, and his own self-worth will be bolstered; Choi is the one who believes in Jeongim, and supports her, is happy at her successes and doesn’t constantly try to cut her down to a sioze that will fit beneath his shoe, as Taeho does.
Seriously, I know I’ve said this before, but if she gets back together with Mr ex-husband Sleazeball… gah.
The girlfriend is also starting to seem majorly hypocritical. Sure, she just wanted to be friends… except not. Sure, she never wants to get married… except she does.
I say, let her marry Taeho… he won’t be able to push her around, and that alone will ensure he has more respect for her than he ever did for Jeongim. And for some reason she seems to like him, so…

Wow seems like everyone really hates the husband! I’m actually still hoping they’ll get back together! Maybe because i feel like i can understand where he’s coming from… it’s like when she married him she lost herself completely and just lived for him, that’s why his ego managed to blow up so much. So it’s not completely his fault the marriage fell apart, she should’ve stood up to him sooner. His parents are the same way, the mother has just let her husband push her around throughout the marriage which is why she identifies with jeongim so much. With that said, taeho can be such an asshole at times, but reformed asses make the best husbands
i just want to believe that there’s a second chance in love… even if the individuals have changed throughout the years, it doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to fall in love again… And i totally hate the idea that once a marriage starts having trouble people always think divorce is the only option. Yes i’m a hopeless romantic. Anyway one of the better korean dramas i’ve watched, a lot of depth and emotion to it.

I fall in love with the storyline when they started to sub at viikii and then they could not find subbers for this drama and subbing stopped. I find this site by accident and the subs are really good and fast. Because of you I can finally watch this drama. The drama was recently extended to 56 episodes, I guess due to the high ratings. Anyways, thank you so much for subbing. It’s been a long while since I found a drama that has sucked me in as much as this one has. I also agree with Irene. I’m rooting for Choi the producer. I was once sympathetic towards Taeho, but now all I can do is hope that it’s romantically over between them. I don’t see his character changing and Choi seems like the sort to help her grow into the woman she’s yearning to become.

Hm. Well, things seem to be developing at last, though still at a glacially slow pace… and I just cannot understand all the people supposedly on Jeongim’s side who are now entreating her to stay with that sleazebag. How could that possibly make her less miserable than whatever lies ahead?? Maybe it’s a cultural thing, but I find this really bizarre. If the husband hadn’t finally decided he wanted to go through with it, Jeongim would never have gotten even this far. I still have the impression that he’d only have to smile nicely at her once and she’d be ready to forgive and forget.
And that he’s now more decisive about the divorce is only because his girlfriend is also getting sick of his slippery non-committal nonsense. Wow, what a guy. Why does ANY woman want to have anything to do with him?
I also still fear that in the next ep everything will once again rewind back to a “separation to get back together”, and nobody is TRULY getting a divorce. *rolls eyes*
If Jeongim ends up with him, I’m going to be SO frustrated. God. Grrr.

We’ll see how happy he can get.

I wanted to tell you guys that for ep 34 at 53:01 mins the subs are early. Actually Jeongim’s part is missing b/c the subs say “Jeongim…” which is Taeho’s part (he starts talking around 53 mins). She just asks Taeho “So…should we go then?” again. It’s just that part from 53:01-53:33 is early but the rest of the subs are good. It’s only a small part nothing big.

Oh my gosh! 50 episodes for a contemporary drama. I wouldn’t really mind if this drama is really, really good but it’s average for a Korean drama and I don’t understand why it is soooooo loooong………..
If this was “the Coffee Prince” or Full house, ya I can see it being so long but it’s not.
Next time I’m going to see how long a drama series before I get drawn in..
